Following a productive meeting with Canberra United CEO Samantha Farrow and Capital Football Board Director Angelo Konstantinou, the Save Canberra United (SCU) working group can confirm that both parties share concerns about reducing financial deficits to secure Canberra United’s participation in Season 17 in 2024/25. In addition to Samantha Farrow’s critical efforts behind the scenes to secure additional funding, SCU will support this initiative by continuing to advance community fundraising efforts within the limited timeframe available. During the meeting, emphasis was placed on fostering clear communication channels and collaborative efforts between both parties, to ensure effective progress and accountability moving forward. Plans are underway to formalise these efforts through a contract between SCU and Capital Football, further aligning all parties’ objectives and with the intention of building trust with the community of how their donations will be spent.
